Over these years we have received thousands of reviews.  Frankly, in all this time in business we have only received a few that were dissatisfied (a rating of 3 or below).  We make every effort to learn from our mistakes.  This is why the overwhelming majority have rated us a 5.  We are very proud of that.

If this is the two suitcases, they seem to be fine, but we don't do that much traveling.

One thing:  Apparently Homeland Security cut the small padlock we put on where the main zippers meet that keeps "folks" from casually entering the suitcase.  In the course of doing so, they cut the whole zipper "handle" (for lack of the correct word), the little metal flap that you use to pull the zipper open and shut.  Apparently they can do this, but isn't there a way to prevent this while at the same time securing your things in the suitcase.  Maybe an easily replaceable "handle" that you could bend into place.  Right now the suitcase zippers have no handles.  I don't care if they cut these little padlocks.  They aren't worth anything, and Homeland Security doesn't always go into the suitcase.  On the other hand, replacing the whole zipper set up is a right large pain in the backside

Q1: Product availability and competitive pricing, which was difficult to find on Briggs & Riley. Specifically I purchased:

from David on 07.08.2005 B&R Large Zippered Carry-on Tote # 1130 (Baseline Collection), sale priced at $94.50; list $135.00.
from David on 07.27.2005, B&R U-28NX 28" Expandable Upright Carry-On (Baseline Collection), sale priced at $342.50; list $489.00.
from David on 09.11.2005, B&R 1125 Vertical Tote (Baseline Collection), sale priced at $93.75; list $125.00.
from website on 12.24.2005, B&R Organized Toiletry Kit # 1117N (Baseline Collection), sale priced at $59.25, list $79.00.
Q2: Not really. The reason I have not purchased more is that I filled out what I needed from the B&R line during 2005, just as it was closing out and moving to the new style/model. I filled out other pieces at that time from Lazar's, Portland Luggage and Franklin T. Figg of Half Moon Bay, the latter vendor now apparently out of business. I believe I made those other vendor choices based primarily on product availability, as the line was closing out.

Q3: I was certainly "5" satisfied with your service and product. I was less satisfied with my Portland Luggage experience. I eventually noticed that the one item I purchased from them was a second; there was a large glue dripping behind one panel.



I now own nine pcs of B&R from the old line, so I don't really expect to buy any of those items again soon, I make my luggage go the distance. Prior to this B&R set I "made-do" for many many years with a set of classic Lark pieces I bought way-back-when Lark was still an independent company ... and when upscale luggage was still sold with big metal zippers and no wheels !! 

But I MAY WELL be in the market for a new briefcase ... and your store will be the very first place I would check if I did need to shop for it ....

I did watch your video. My my, you do have a LOT of quality products !!

Q1     This is the best attache case currently made by Samsonite.  It has worked fine for two years (and is still going strong).  It is much more robust and durable than the Delegate II you ordered from Samsonite (which had problems twice).  I thoroughly appreciate your taking the time to contact Samsonite and shipping back the bad Delegate II cases (and working it out so that I paid a prorated fee to update to the current model).

 
Q2   I thoroughly enjoy dealing with Lee, Pierce, and Claire.  I plan to get my next attache case from London Luggage.  I have been buying Samsonite attache cases from London Luggage since 1992.  The sliding straps holding the backboard of the current case sometimes comes unloosed.  They are usually relatively easy to put back.  But this could be improved in future models.  This is a 4" case.  It would be nice if, in addition to that, a 5" case would be made available.  The Samsonite model I bought from you on June 6, 1998 (I don't remember the model) was the absolute best attache case I ever had.  It cost about $117 (even after my 30% discount) and was worth it.  After about 8 years the locking mechanism broke.  I checked several places and none could repair it.  I wish Samsonite would bring this attache case back.  I would appreciate it if you would relay this feedback to Samsonite.
 
Q3   Overall my experience with London Luggage (and Samsonite) is 4.5 out of 5.  I am glad you send me these e-mails to get my feedback.

     Q2.  Any DISLIKES?   I  have ordered 2 leather cases from you, one was a lawyers brief case.  The lock was bad on it and ended up having to cut the strap off to open the case.  Since this was destroyed, I ordered a leather catalog case.  I love it as it holds so much.   The only thing I wish it had was some pockets sewn inside for pens, etc.  This is a minor thing, though.

 The Hartman bags are classics. They function and remain elegant, even after four years of service.

My wife loves her bag and takes to and from work and meetings every day.

 

My bag hits the airport (I DO put in a tote going through the x-ray), meetings, sales calls, and hotels. While everyone else carries a “black computer bag” the natural tan stands out while offering functional excellence.

We had the clip on a buckle fall off in December 2009. Hartman replaced it free of charge, and total “out of office” was about two weeks.

LIKES:   I had a great experience with you.  Lee C. was extremely knowledgeable about Briggs & Riley (as well as other products) – I bought 4 pieces, sight unseen, from her!  She described each piece in great detail, even opening up the toiletry bag and explaining in detail all the pockets, etc.  She was able to help me decide which pieces I should buy based on the kind of traveling I was doing.  She even tried to track down a discontinued piece for me  (I was able to find it online eventually but she really went out of her way to help me.  And of course, the free shipping and no tax is a no brainer.

Unfortunately UPS does not ship to FPO/APO addresses.  Even though they may ship to these addresses, we do not use the US Postal Service because of the delays in following up information.
